The Old Form Filling page

Here's where the old form-filling page was at Perceptions Forum. It is here no more, as persistent abuse by spam senders have meant its presence here has had to be ended. During the last year of existence of this form filling page, thirteen thousand nuisance applications were received. Almost all of these were easily defeated by the fact that no valid details were added, and the rest could be easily excluded by a simple verification method.

The nuisance form-fillings consisted of nonsense details entered by a robot in the form. These items, sometimes offensive, appeared to be towards promoting scam websites by means of impostor links. I would guess these things infest many open-dustbin guestbooks and this gives the scamsters bogus search engine ranking by putting their links onto other people's websites. Not so here! Instead the entire collection is kept in an offline location as evidence.

As none of the other form filling systems in the group were attacked, it seems likely that the scamsters are using a very simplistic approach, so it may be that even just moving the form to another location may confuse them. We will see. If not, we'll probably go for the "enter the code in a box" type of thing, which is a simple method and yet far too clever for the scamsters' robots!
