Dear Voices Forum Artist,
I was recently searching the web when I came across your web site @ www.voicesforum.org.uk . The reason I am interested by your website is I am undertaking a two year course in design crafts.
Whilst looking through the website I came across a member called Chris Barchard, his work interests me as it’s very expressive. It’s not just his works of art, it’s his views that have interested me. I don’t know much about the problems of living that he has been through, except from what I have read in his pages. He seems to be a decent enough person. He seems to have a clear understanding of things, which have happened around him, and seems to get on with life even though these problems have evolved.
My main reason of interest is his works of art and how he uses them as a survival technique. As an artist myself I can understand the connection that he has with his art. Furthermore how he uses it to get through the problems that life has dealt him. I find myself from time to time being down in the dumps and just let myself go in my work. It’s a positive way to release problems we lock inside ourselves good and bad. Secondly if you can find yourself making a career from it you can benefit further, as we know that people are often discriminated from a career as a result of these problems. So I would like to congratulate not only Chris but also all members of your site. As I show you all a great deal of admiration in what you are doing.
I have chosen this piece of work below as I find it very interesting the forms are very organic and abstract in shape. They remind me of leafs and growing stems, as they flow from the centre of the piece.
